Story Story Story

You can have a flashy looking movie with great images, but without story, you have nothing. This is pretty much the biggest thing at the AFI. From the cinematographers to the directors and writers, the emphasis of every discipline is on how to tell the story. Elements like point of view, premise, plot, character... how they all revolve around the story.

I think for the next two years, my blog may be boring to some, but it should be interesting for anyone interested in learning about filmmaking. I will try to sum up the things I'm learning. And it looks like everything will be focused on story.

Story? I have THE story for you.

The pretty blonde with a pair prosthetic and disproportionate DDs is sitting at the bar drinking her fruity cocktail. She is all sad and depressed. In comes the hunk on steroids and notices the pretty blonde with the fake DDs. He approaches her and starts the least visibly-rehearsed conversation. She tells him that she is sad because she saw her boyfriend with another hot blonde with fake DDs. The hunk agrees that the boyfriend is an asshole and says that "a woman like that needs to have a man that knows how to treat her". Next we find them in a bedroom screwing.

Man, I should start writing scripts for Vivid Entertainment.

Jameed, did you steal this idea from the Bataranzi? It sounds like one of his fantacies.
